Empire Slice House is 4 Years Old!

Empire Year 4 Poster - Final-01.jpg

Last Sunday, I headed back to OKC for Empire Slice House's 4 year anniversary party. What a fun day. I got to see so many friends, and work with my 84 Hospitality fam. Leading up to the event, I had to design this wild poster, a koozie, and all the signage. As we rolled into OKC on Saturday night, I even saw my billboard design brightly lit up in the sky. T'was awesome.

Here are a few of my favorite shots:

Packard's X Marshall Brewing

Last night, the weather got shitty, and the gods started crying. That didn't stop Linda and I from going to Packard's Beer Dinner. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated and immediately began with the Marshall Sundown Wheat. [slideshow]Packards_MarshallBeerDinner2014_LOL9131

Dusty of Marshall Brewing began educating us on the beers as they came out with each course. 5 Courses of food by Chef Mitchell Dunzy and 6 rounds of beer. Mitchell talked about his food, but didn't need to say much. It definitely spoke for itself. His flavor palate is pretty dang good because he paired these meals perfectly. The same will go for me. I won't say much about the food or drink either because my hope is that the photos make your mouth water and you'll go try it for yourself.

First up: Marshall Old Pavilion Pilsner paired with Scallop Pork Belly over Mizuma Pilsner & Lemon Confit Packards_MarshallBeerDinner2014_LOL9155

2nd Course: Marshall Revival Red Ale & Revival Red Ale Onion Soup

3rd Course: Marshall Pub Ale with Country Fried Rabbit Saddle with Pub Ale Gravy & Parsnip Puree

I will say, this was my first time having rabbit. I've always heard good things, and Mitchell did not disappoint. Packards_MarshallBeerDinner2014_LOL9165

4th Course: Marshall Atlas IPA with Atlas IPA Curried Lamb & Brocolini

5th Course: Marshall Big Jamoke Porter with Cannoli Filled with Big Jamoke Porter Cream Packards_MarshallBeerDinner2014_LOL9172

Jealous? Hungry? Thirsty? You should be. Follow @PackardsOKC and @MarshallBrewing to find out the next time they do something like this.

Thanks again to everyone from Dusty and everyone from Marshall Brewing, Nick, Mitchell and the staff at Packard's, and YelpOKC for hooking it up.
